An 'irregular' measure is not counted in the measure numbering. MuseScore knows 'eighth quarter' is the right sequence for 4/4 when starting on beat 3&. So all we are doing is telling MuseScore to treat the 3/8 pickup in the same way it treats that case. The complimentary measure with only a dotted half note (dotted minim) at the end has an actual duration of 3/4. If you enter a half note followed by an eighth note into a 4/4 measure, MuseScore absolutely gets this right. In the last 3 days there were 0 new threads and 0 reply posts. The measures in the middle have both nominal and actual durations of 4/4. When theres a pick-up phrase (say, three eights in a 4/4 meter), and the beginning section (say, 16 measures) is repeated, there wont be any double repeat start bar lines at the beginning.

Tobias Giesen's plugins, full version, Robert Patterson plugins, Dolet 6 plugin If the user could simply delete this incomplete measure, OR could add an extra beat to it. the duration works in whole counts or Quarter Notes, I have a Up Measure that has 3 eigth notes in it, so that is 1 1/2 quarter notes which to make it work right in duration it would be 1.5/4 but the program dosent handle eighth note up Measures only full counts. Yes, it is possible to insert a new bar line so that there is a pick-up note (or notes), but the resulting empty bar is incomplete, despite the fact that it now contains a whole rest in it. I looked at the handbook and guess what it dosent apply to this. This hides the time signatures automatically and also has the additional feature of not including the new pickup measure in the measure numbering. Creation of pick-up note (s)/anacruses is problematic. Select it and use the split measure plugin to split the measure after two beats and to move the second part of the measure to the next system. Perhaps slightly easier: just enter the music of both the ending measure and the pick-up measure in one 3/4 measure. time signature, pickup measure, and the number of measures in your piece.
